Mass Effect 3, widely believed to be the finale of the grand trilogy might pave the road for a new beginning—as suggested by a recent interview from Bioware coupled with gaming veterans.
Mass Effect 3 might not see the end of the franchise
As we are all aware, Bioware had long announced to wrap up Mass effect series with the triumph of the third and final game of the trilogy—Mass Effect 3. But recently an interview given by Ray Mazuka, Bioware CEO shed somewhat different light on the issue clearly stating that they have plans to push the franchise forward. Though he maintained they would keep their promise to offer an exhilarating show-down with Commander Shepherd, it could well mark a new beginning. Well, we are unsure what he wanted to mean exactly by ‘new beginning;’ it can be assumed it’s applicable for new fans as well as may be a new hero. Mass Effect 3 might just have a new entrant—a possible frontrunner to replace Commander Shepherd in future titles.
Too tough to close consistent profitable Mass Effect franchise: Experts
Mass Effect has remained one of the steadiest series to earn profits for Bioware over the years. At a time when EA is witnessing ups and downs across titles and spectrums, experts feel it’s really difficult for EA to shut down the ever consistent franchise altogether.
Perhaps this is another reason, why even before Mass Effect 3 is released, we are discussing about a possible Mass Effect 4. In case ‘Mass Effect 4’ materializes in future, the talismanic Commander Shepherd is certain to be replaced—may be by someone who makes debut in the upcoming third title of the series.
Mass Effect 3: Time for transition?
In Mass Effect 3, where the gamers/Shepherd’s decision would change the entire course of action—we might have a tragic end to pave the way for a smooth transition of a new protagonist.
Experts believe Mass Effect 3 may have a situation where Shepherd is unable thwart the Reaper invasion and the game ends tragically. Even then Bioware would be successful in introducing a new protagonist to triumph and to carry on with the future titles.
Mass Effect 3 will be released on March 6th across PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
