Bioware has confirmed that though Mass Effect 3 may not be the final occasion you experience the Salarian Homeland, this is certainly the end of road for Captain Shepherd.
Bioware looking to carry forward Mass Effect title
Dr. Ray Mazuka—Bioware CEO had clarified that they are hoping to carry on with the Mass Effect franchise in near future, but at the moment their plans don’t consider including Captain Shepherd. Answering to questions on fate of Captain Shepherd in post-Mass Effect 3 period; he emphasized that they would respect their commitment to provide a majestic conclusion to Captain Shepherd’s journey in Mass Effect 3; but at the same time may use the platform to introduce a ‘new beginning’ for fans on the same footing.
Reiterating the same lines, Bioware Community Manager and Producer Michael Gamble said that though fans may get to visits the Mass Effect universe, this is the final time the gamers would be playing with Captain Shepherd. On the contrary; we may have Captain Shepherd in some other title in future.
Mass Effect 3: What happens to Captain Shepherd?
It is still unclear what happens to Captain Shepherd at the end of the epic galactic war—Bioware hasn’t uttered a single word; whether he has survived the Reaper onslaught to triumph at the top or Alas! We have been hearing unconfirmed news that Bioware may go for a tragic end to bring down the curtains on the epic Mass Effect title. Our suspicions has only grown in recent days—with Producer Gamble saying that even if there’s more title to the series, Captain Shepherd is not going to be a part of it.
So, if it’s the end of road for Captain Shepherd; what we would discuss about in future—no more acrobatics, no more arguments over ‘best’ weapon, hair-colour, and gesture; overall we will all miss the personal cult of Captain Shepherd.
So, friends whatever Bioware has decided to do with our very own Captain Shepherd—we can’t forget him. We at-least can hope Shepherd’s triumph at the end of Mass Effect 3 over the deadly Reapers— nothing short of that would be commensurate with his stature, his charisma and valour.
